Something Blue

Do people still like to have 'something blue' on their wedding day?  I know I did... a sapphire necklace... which were actually borrowed from my mother... and was very old (was my Grandmother's).  So I guess I managed to tick all off the 'old, borrowed, blue' thing with one necklace!

Either way, I'm just loving these soft blues below... especially the cute shoes! x

Ombre

Ombre...

n. A French term meaning “shaded.” Usually a multicolored stripe, with colors graduating from light to dark.

You've probably seen and heard a lot about this recently.  It's being used so beautifully in the wedding industry at the moment, whether it be in stationery, cakes, floral arrangements or party decorations.

Below is one of Cocoa Berry's ombre invitations and other stationery - following that, cake, cake and more cake.

Mmmmmmm.

Botanical - Anita and Campbell

Hello everyone! Happy Friday.

It's another one of our lovely lovely clients Wedding this weekend! SO a big congrats and good luck to Anita and Campbell who are tying the knot this Saturday.

Here's a look at the stationery suite we created for them in our 'Botanical' design. By changing the colours to this dusky pink and silver changes the whole look and feel of the design. I really like it in this colour way - it gives it a very soft and romantic feel.

Have a fabulous weekend. Go have a cider. xox

Peaches and Pinks

Peaches and pinks...

Loving this combo at the moment and have been working on a few stationery sets in this colour-way over the last few months. It's ultra feminine, fun and summery. Brighten it up with tones of coral and honeysuckle or tone is down with some creams and ivory.

Would be a great inspiration for a bridal shower or high tea too!

We're off to the Wairarapa Wedding Expo this weekend - looking forward to meeting lots of new brides to be and all the fabulous suppliers. Will be sure to post some pics!

New Design ' You -&- Me'

I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to say this or not but... I actually really like this design. It's bold, and striking, pure typography, clean lines and lots of white space - all the things I love.

This new design uses the beautiful shape of the ampersand and its surrounding spaces - created from various cropping sections.

The giant striking ampersand (&) signifies the two people in the marriage and the coming together of the two families. The '&' links together the two people in this wedding.

Modern and effortless - 'You & me' will make for a fab new design. Shown here in a deep navy, but would work in any colour combo. I can imagine this looking stunning foiled in silver or gold.

'You & Me' will be coming to our off the rack section in the coming months but is ready and waiting to be ordered!

Until next time. Bye!

Stationery Showcase - Heavenly Henna

Hello Interweb. Today we wanted to showcase a design based on the beautiful and intricate patterns of Henna.

Shown here in a brick red and cream, make for a warm and inviting combo. Based on a traditional pattern but with a modern twist makes this design a celebration of culture.

This design is an adaption of our off the rack design 'Indian Ink'

Imagine these designs piped onto your wedding cake... that would be a show stopper for sure.

A little bird told me...

There are so many themes you can choose for your wedding and one that is certainly still popular at the moment is to incorporate birds into your big day.

Birds can be such a beautiful part of accessorising your wedding and especially birdcages for the tables. They give a beautiful antique/vintage look. And of course stationery.... there are so many wonderful ways to incorporate this them into your wedding stationery!

We often refer to loved up couples as 'love birds'. Did you know that Lovebirds are a type of parrot (very colourful) and they like to sit closely together in pairs. It's commonly believed that they can't live without their mate - they got their name because they're such sociable and affectionate birds! So go and give your lovebird a kiss... !

Text Only Set

This design, text only, is a very popular one. Elegant and modern - not too 'girly' either so its popular with the grooms as well! Still it's one of my faves especially in this colour combo of chocolate/caramel browns and a touch of blush pink.

You can see the whole set here

Tailor Made Design - Tarryn and Matt

It's a cold and wet day here, with winter digging in its heels. So.... what is the opposite of today? a showcase of one of our favourite designs from the summer season, a design that helped set the scene for a warm and dry Central Otago wedding. Vineyards and Orchards and long summer evenings - sounds just as good as textured card and rounded corners. What a combo!

Colours in taupe and baby pink.

Black and Green Goodness

Hello! Today I thought we would post an inspiration board of sorts. We have taken one of our new designs (currently nameless!) and paired it up with a few images that would help to set the tone and theme for your wedding.

We like to show how your stationery can influence your theme for the day! Something as simple as lime green and black colours in your stationery can lead you on your way to a fresh and bold theme. Enjoy!

Decorative Decadence

Hello Interweb. Feeling more and more like a bad blogger at the moment - I notice my last post was in MAY whoops!!!

So here goes the first post for June. Another example of taking one of our off the rack designs, adding your own touch and making it extra special.

Kirstin and Friedrich chose the Decorative Frame design and changed the colors to fit their theme of Jade green and crisp white. To make their invites extra special they chose two types of speciality paper stock. A textured paper for the outside and a delicate translucent paper for the inside. Add in the custom designed motif of their initials, and you've got yourself something rather special.

Here are a few pics of invite and the construction of the final product. Thank you Kirstin and Friedrich you were an absolute pleasure to work with!
Hot off the press and ready to be assembled (over 300 pieces!)

Bold - with silver & Gold

Hello All! Sorry in the delay in posts - things have been a bit hectic recently at CB!

I wanted to share with you a few pics of these delicious invites using silver and gold foiling.
Taking your invites + stationery to the next level - making it EXTRA special - can be achieved with silver or gold foiling. Metallic printing is usually associated with more 'traditional' wedding stationery but using it in combination with a modern design can make it so effective.

YUM! Silver and Gold I'm crushing on you!
