Colours: Passionate peach or succulent sunshine?

Good afternoon everyone!  We hope you're all having a lovely day...

In terms of people getting married and having a choose a colour scheme - it can be daunting... where do you start!?

We are working with lots of wonderful new clients at the moment and we like to understand which colours best suit which people.   It can be great fun looking through various blogs and sites and exploring numerous colour schemes... then once you've made that all important decision, it all seems that much easier!

At Cocoa Berry we like to ensure everyone has the exact colour they're after - hence the importance of a printed proof which we always recommend - that way you can see your stationery 'in the flesh' so to speak (and not just online). Then you can really see how the colour prints.

Whether you are about to get married or not, we wondered, as a colour choice, which do people prefer out of 'Passionate Peach' or 'Succulent Sunshine'?

Anchors Aweigh

Well I must start by saying how wonderful it is to have Charlotte back! Selfish I know. But I just really missed her! So welcome back Char!

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to have my mum up visiting and I decided to take her down the lovely Wynyard Quarter. It was beautifully sunny as we wandered around looking for a spot to have lunch. I'm sure most Aucklanders have been down there to explore, it's really fantastic!

While secretly wishing one of the big luxurious boats was my own, it reminded me of how wonderful the nautical theme can be. If you're getting married at such gorgeous locations as Mantells On The Water or Okahu it could be just what you're after...

Scrummy Lilac

It's the dress. That's what got me first... this stunning Vera Wang dress. Need I say anymore? Then I remembered some lovely lilac invitations we've done and that's what lead me to this lilac inspiration board.

It's just such a pretty colour and can be wonderful to use as a colour scheme within a wedding. Use as much or as little as required. Did you know that in the language of flowers, purple lilacs represent the first emotions of love, while white lilacs symbolise youthful innocence. Because I did not. So there you go.

Peaches and Pinks

Peaches and pinks...

Loving this combo at the moment and have been working on a few stationery sets in this colour-way over the last few months. It's ultra feminine, fun and summery. Brighten it up with tones of coral and honeysuckle or tone is down with some creams and ivory.

Would be a great inspiration for a bridal shower or high tea too!

We're off to the Wairarapa Wedding Expo this weekend - looking forward to meeting lots of new brides to be and all the fabulous suppliers. Will be sure to post some pics!

The house with the green door

I love the colour green. And not just because my new surname is Green. It's just been one of my favourite colours over the years...
We find a lot of clients come to us wanting to incorporate Green into their colour scheme and we love using it in invitations. In fact, the photo in the bottom corner shows a small glimpse of my wedding invitations. Thank you sister. Green has always been considered to be the colour of peace and ecology... did you know that it actually soothes and relaxes us mentally as well as physically? Me likes.

Under the old Oak tree

Some times we like to take one of our invite designs and build an inspiration board around that set. And today it's lucky design... Oak. We have taken the colours - Aqua and Red - and the style - outdoor summer wedding- and created this lovely wee board.

An intimate outdoor wedding under the Oak tree would link to the invite design and these colours are a striking combo and easy to theme. Red balloons, aqua streamers and lollypops, not to mention the HOT shoes. Sounds pretty good to me!

Tailor Made Design - Tarryn and Matt

It's a cold and wet day here, with winter digging in its heels. So.... what is the opposite of today? a showcase of one of our favourite designs from the summer season, a design that helped set the scene for a warm and dry Central Otago wedding. Vineyards and Orchards and long summer evenings - sounds just as good as textured card and rounded corners. What a combo!

Colours in taupe and baby pink.

The golden colours of Autumn

With the change of season upon us and a slight bite in the air - we thought we would showcase one of our designs in these beautiful autumn colours. Let the season you choose to marry in influence your colour palette and help to set the scene.

This design 'Grapevine' is from our 'Off the Rack' section and just goes to show that with a simple colour palette change the whole look of this design can change instantly.

When Rose met Charcoal

When Rose met Charcoal

Yum - I love these colours together. They just work so well. Pairing a charcoal dress with soft pink can look just gorgeous and of course vice versa...

We all know that the colours you choose will impact the overall feeling of your wedding - they set the tone, the feel and overall look for your special day.

When thinking of colours, think of when Rose met Charcoal.... a very nice fit indeed.
